We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Assistant to join our pediatric clinic. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, strong clinical and administrative skills, and the ability to create a welcoming environment for our young patients and their families. Ability to administer vaccines is a plus. Hours are non-negotiable. This is a full-time position based in our South Windsor location, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and families with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Assist pediatricians with exams, procedures, and treatments
- Administer vaccines as directed by the provider
- Take and record vital signs, height, weight, and medical history
- Perform routine lab tests, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (Athena Health)
- Educate parents on care instructions, immunization schedules, and wellness visits
- Keep exam rooms clean, stocked, and prepared for patient visits
- Assist with front-desk duties, including scheduling, phone calls, and insurance verification as needed
- Follow clinic protocols for infection control and patient safety
Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Experience in a pediatric or family medicine setting is a plus
- Ability to administer vaccines is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (Athena Health)
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
