JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Behavior Technician
Reports to: Building Principal / Assistant Principal / Pupil Personnel Services
Supervisor / Behavior Analyst/Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Job Description:
Under the direction of the staff members listed above, the Behavior Technician works as a team member with teachers, counselors, school social workers and other appropriate personnel to develop appropriate and positive student behavior. Implements strategies that focus on decreasing maladaptive behaviors and increasing social, communication and adaptive skills.
Knowledge of:
- and ability to implement, de-escalation techniques
- and ability to implement, behavior management techniques
- intensive behavior intervention techniques
- basic subjects taught including; mathematics, language arts, science and social studies.
- safe practices in classroom and playground
Ability to:
- monitor and observe student behavior according to approved policies and procedure
- implement SEL curriculum
- develop rapport and interact effectively with students
- communicate effectively orally and in writing
- handle emotionally charged situations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience working with students who display challenging behaviors
- Maintain a current certificate in Physical Management Training (PMT)
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

- High school or equivalent (Required)
