An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Health Visitor to support the Specialist Perinatal and Infant Mental Health (PIMH) workstream in Trafford.
The post holder will be part of TLCO Parent and Infant Mental Health (PIMH) Service supporting development within Trafford, with responsibility for leading, and embedding up to date research and evidence-based practice and developing Perinatal and Infant Mental Health services to Trafford Families and staff. This role will work closely with Trafford Infant Parent Service to promote a cohesive package of support to families in the perinatal period.
Main duties of the job
The specialist Health Visitor will ensure the efficient delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, transition to parenthood and perinatal & infant mental health This will include provision/oversight of any required training and clinical audit to provide assurance of a competent confident workforce. The Specialist HV for PIMH will have a high level of relevant, expert knowledge & skill and will work in collaboration with other services.
They will assist in the development and implementation of policies, pathways and protocols that support and improve PIMH, and will provide evidence and guidance. The Specialist Health Visitor will work across a range of settings and organisational boundaries to support staff working in the community.
Work in partnership with individuals, families and communities and collaborate with the wider multi-agency team in accordance with the local and national public health agenda.
Contribute to the promotion of health and the primary prevention of ill-health by the application of the four principles of health visiting.
The Specialist Health Visitor will provide relevant specialist consultation, training and support to the Health Visiting service in relation to Perinatal & Infant Mental Health, as well as the relationship of the parental couple. The emphasis will be on early identification, interventions, prevention of mental health difficulties, and the promotion of positive relationships between parents and their infants for a defined caseload.

- Current health visiting experience
- NBO trained
- Nurse Prescribing qualification (V150; V100)
- Masters’ degree
