Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
- NH Educator Certification in Special Education
- Experience with Extended School Year services
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Familiarity with the use of Aspen and NHSEIS
Specific Core Function:
Organize and coordinate Extended School Year services. Responsibilities include organizing and creation of Extended School Year schedules and services. Supervising staff, including tutors and related services. Coordination of transportation, building facilities, food services, supplies and payroll.
Responsibilities of the Position:
- Review ESY services packets for accuracy and communicate with schools regarding accuracy;
- Assist the Assistant Director of Student Services with the recruitment and hiring of internal and external instructors to teach in the program;
- Develop and coordinate the scheduling of related services;
- Determine classroom assignments for staff and students;
- Coordinate collection of student material for instruction;
- Estimate and order materials and supplies necessary for the program;
- Coordinate, and manage program aspects of the on-site ESY Summer Program for the assigned schools;
- Ensure staff follow District policies, including those regarding dress and confidentiality;
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program at the assigned schools;
- Assure the safety and academic programming for each child involved in the program;
- Report all incidents of concern to the Assistant Director of Student Services or his designee;
- Work directly with the Assistant Director of Student Services and school staff;
- Collect program data and file all necessary reports as directed;
- Work cooperatively with all partnering agencies;
- Work with the Transportation Coordinator to arrange necessary student transportation;
- Work with the School Food and Nutrition Services department to coordinate provision of breakfast to qualified student participants;
- Work with the Finance Office in providing information for tuition to Summer School and other programs as necessary;
- Coordinate with Directors and/or Coordinators of other District summer programs;
- Maintain a presence in the facility during the program to facilitate staff and student needs.
- Maintain a professional attitude with students, parents, and staff;
- Maintain communications for program through phone and written format;
- Conduct pre and post inspection of facility; and
- Ensure progress reports are completed for each student at the conclusion of ESY services, entered into NHSEIS, placed in files and distributed to parents.
Supervisory Responsibilities – Required Special Qualifications:
Oversight and supervision of on-site program staff
