Pay Grade 23 / 40 Hours Per Week
ANTICIPATED START DATE: July 1, 2025
STARTING HOURLY RATE: $37.05
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science and/or 5 years of experience in Applications Systems Administration;
- Must have a State of New Hampshire Motor Vehicle License;
- Comprehensive knowledge of software systems applications, including operating systems, connectivity, and configuration;
- Comprehensive knowledge of software applications problem diagnosis, and software problem resolution; May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist;
- Thorough knowledge of assigned department functions, procedures, policies, and organization as they relate to applications support services.
Specific Core Function:
Supervises the planning, operations, training, and support of software application systems throughout the District; performs directly related work as required.
The work is performed under the supervision and direction of the Chief Information & Cyber Security Officer but extensive leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. Supervision is exercised over the work of employees in the class of Information Support Specialist and related technical staff. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee of this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, technical vendors, and the public. The principal duties of this class are performed in a general office environment with necessity to travel to school sites when necessary.
Responsibilities of the Position:
Evaluates, selects, and oversees the installation, configuration, and maintenance of District approved application software;
- Responsible for overall administration of departmental software application systems for the District and other systems which the district interfaces including SIS, DOE portals, EL, Food Services, Library, CLEVER, School Notification systems and HR applications among others;
- Reviews and analyzes user requests for applications software and its uses as it applies to specific needs. Consults with end users to test and debug applications to meet client needs. Serves as expertise in all aspects of designing and application development. May conduct training to Staff, Students and Families as needed;
- Works closely with the Information Systems Support Specialist and related technical staff;
- Writes detailed technical specifications for proposals and bids, evaluates proposals and administers contracts;
- Recommends software according to prescribed needs;
- Participates in the development of policies and procedures relating to the proper use of all application software systems;
- Enforces security measures in accordance with established policies and procedures;
- Evaluates trends in District software application needs and makes projections and determinations based on those trends;
- Provides technical support to District staff through multiple resources including and not limited to phone and remote software applications and on-site visits.
Specified Length/Hours of Position:
- This is an affiliated MESPA 52-week 8-hour per day position.
