What are the responsibilities and job description for the Title I Tutors position at Manchester School District?
This position is for certified teachers to provide after school or summer tutoring to Title I students:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of appropriate content areas (i.e. Math, Science).
- Experience and skill instructing individual and small groups of students.
- Knowledgeable about assessment processes and appropriate instruments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with students and colleagues.
REPORTS TO: Principal or designated supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructional tutors may be asked to assume any of the following responsibilities:
- Provide instruction to individual student or group of students, under the
direction and supervision of a teacher or other supervisor (i.e. administrator),
in the classroom or in a separate area. - Work cooperatively with classroom teacher or specialist to design lesson plans and learning activities to be accomplished.
- Administer academic assessments, as directed by a supervisor, to diagnose and monitor a student’s strengths or needs.
- Evaluate a student’s work under the supervision of a teacher or supervisor.
- Complete record keeping, as directed, including keeping daily journal on a selected student, writing summary reports and analyses of student progress.
- Consult with classroom teachers and other professionals about a student’s progress, needs or program; attend special education team meetings, as directed.
- In consultation with supervisor, designs and implements specific learning activities that enable students to achieve the state and district curriculum standards and meet the district and school’s behavioral expectations.
- Participate in staff development activities, as requested by the supervisor, to remain current in content areas and instructional strategies.
- Other duties as required by supervisor.
