Training Wheels PreK Lead Teacher instructs preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices. PA early learning standards
- Lead by example: encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching
- Strategically utilize Childcare Assistants and Aids
- Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, Pre-care, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences, and as available, participate in family engagement opportunities
- Ensure all center policies, state regulations and quality assurance standards ( Per DHS, Department of ED, and Keystone STARS) are met
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment- including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children
- Maintain accurate records, forms, and files, Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
- Serve meals and snacks in accordance to nutritional guidelines
- Create a nurturing and fun classroom environment for the students and staff
- Perform other assigned duties
- Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Teaching Certificate
Two years of related experience or relevant coursework
Current First Aid and CPR, along with required federal, state county and state certification and clearances
Good oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation.
Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
