Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood draws and specimen collection with a focus on patient care and safety. This role requires a compassionate individual who can effectively communicate with patients while ensuring the highest standards of aseptic technique and laboratory practices.
Duties
- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures for blood collection in accordance with established protocols.
- Ensure proper identification of patients and specimens to maintain accuracy in testing.
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during specimen collection.
- Monitor and record vital signs as necessary prior to and after procedures.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing concerns and ensuring comfort during the collection process.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols within the clinical laboratory environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in phlebotomy or related clinical laboratory techniques is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and laboratory practices.
- Familiarity with specimen collection processing methods and equipment.
- Excellent patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all interactions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient interaction.
- Certification in phlebotomy or relevant training is mandatory.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
