Overview
Overview: This position supports day to day Inventory and Warehouse operations within several Stockrooms located inside MBTA Repair Facilities. The Base Support Supervisor will manage a team of Material Planners responsible for managing inventory levels and effectively warehousing material at each location. The overall goal of the Base Support Supervisor is to increase inventory accuracy at Base Locations and ensure Material Planners are servicing MBTA Forman and Mechanics to the best of their ability. The Base Support Supervisor is also responsible for running reports daily and managing several small projects across multiple base locations. This position reports directly to the Program Manager and may require additional tasks to better service and assist the MBTA’s Warehousing and Inventory efforts.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Work Cross Functionally with Mancon Management and MBTA Management to support day to day operations at base locations and Stoughton’s main warehouse
- Act as a subject matter expert within internal Inventory Management system FMIS to support Material Planners and train new team members
- Provides in-depth causative research for misidentified, damaged, non-located material as required
- Plan and manage new and ongoing special projects at multiple base locations
- Operate within Microsoft 365 applications (Primarily Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Operate hand or power trucks and/or forklift to assist or perform warehousing duties
- Frequent local travel to base locations for support, guidance and problem solving
- This is a working Supervisory Position and may require shift work coverage on little notice
Qualifications
- 4 Years of experience in an inventory focused discipline
- 2 Years of experience as a team leader or supervisor
- 2 Years of experience with Excel
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Forklift License
- Driver's License
- Co-Manage a team of Material Planners across several locations and multiple shifts
- Co-Manage the warehousing and inventories of spare parts and materials across several base locations
- Practice and Preach contract specific warehousing and inventory methods
- Enforce performance standards, daily task and project deadlines, and review Material Planner performance
Physical Requirements
