Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Director of J-Day Camps at Mandel JCC, located in Beachwood, OH. The Assistant Director is critical in the year-round leadership team for the Camping and Youth Department, overseeing daily operations and long-term development of J-Day Camps. Responsibilities include managing staff recruitment, training, and supervision; supporting program development and community engagement efforts; managing camp social media; ensuring compliance with safety regulations; and fostering strong relationships with campers, parents, and staff. This role also involves administrative tasks, strategic planning, and participation in professional conferences, which may include international travel for recruitment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Recreation, Outdoor Recreation, Sports Management, or related field
- 3 years of experience in camp leadership, youth program management, or staff supervision
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Knowledge of Jewish culture, values, and practices (preferred but not required)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media management
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed
- Enthusiasm, adaptability, and a commitment to enriching children’s lives
Salary : $50,000 - $55,000
