Job Title: Basketball Referee (Youth & Adult Leagues)
Location: Mandel JCC, Palm Beach Gardens
Job Type: Part-Time
Job Summary:
Mandel JCC is seeking a knowledgeable and dependable Basketball Referee to officiate youth and adult league games. The ideal candidate will have prior officiating experience, a strong understanding of basketball rules, and the ability to manage games fairly and professionally. This role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to create a positive and safe playing environment for all participants.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Sundays and weekday nights (as needed)
- Location: Mandel JCC, Palm Beach Gardens
- Pay Rate: $40-$50 per hour (based on experience)
Responsibilities:
- Officiate youth and adult basketball games in accordance with league rules and regulations.
- Ensure fair play, sportsmanship, and player safety at all times.
- Communicate effectively with players, coaches, and spectators to explain calls and enforce rules.
- Manage game flow, enforce time regulations, and maintain order on the court.
- Make quick and accurate decisions under pressure.
- Address and de-escalate conflicts professionally and impartially.
- Assist in pre-game and post-game duties, including checking equipment and reporting game results or incidents.
Requirements:
- Prior refereeing experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of basketball rules and game flow.
- Ability to manage players, coaches, and game situations effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
- Availability to work Sunday and weekday evening games as needed.
