POSITION: Operations Supervisor
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SCHEDULE: Monday through Thursday; 5:00 am - 4:00 pm
GENERAL SCOPE:
The Operations Supervisor oversees and provides direction to employees to ensure product quality, timeliness, and safety standards are met. Interacts with Planning, Quality Control, R&D, Shipping and Receiving, Maintenance, Management, Rabbis for Kosher approval, and internal and external Auditors. Key competencies: Analytical Skills, Communication and Interpersonal Skills, Leadership and Management Skills, Mathematical Skills including Weights and Conversions, 5S Lean Manufacturing Practices, and strong Computer Skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee employees to ensure personal safety is highest priority.
- Oversee employees to ensure production quality, production timeliness, and shipping timeliness are meeting the highest standards.
- Provide direction and support to all employees to promote company values, goals, and objectives.
- Uphold the highest standards via compliance to GMP, Food Safety Procedures, Quality Procedures, Regulatory requirements, and established KPIs.
- Solve problems and seeks long-term policy implementation to refine company policies and practices.
- Manage production activities to satisfy customer orders and ensure product meets customer’s quality specifications, required lead time, and internal efficiencies to meet MANE’s financial demands.
- Identify and implement projects and programs that result in continuous process improvement, including improving warehouse utilization, increasing customer service levels, and improving warehouse productivity.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards of equipment and operations.
- Assure all GMP rules are properly followed, including personal hygiene, trash removal, etc.
- Provide guidance and corrective action to employees as required, utilizing goals and objectives, performance appraisals, and disciplinary process as primary mechanisms.
- Actively participate in periodic training sessions to increase understanding of, and abilities related to, safety, quality productivity, materials, and equipment operation.
- Maintain and incorporates key manufacturing benchmarks into work activities, focusing on root-cause analysis to drive improvements and efficiencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Facility Manager.
- May be required to spend time on 2nd or 3rd shifts.
- Management will support and facilitate education, training and action within their teams to effectively and adequately implement environmental policies, procedures and practices, as well as promote continual improvement consistent with environmental objectives.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree required with Operations, Logistics, Engineering, Business or Management degrees preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of Flavor Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of Supervisory experience and 3 years working with manufacturing strategies and systems preferred.
- Understanding of supply chain activities.
- Working knowledge of multiple industry-related equipment including Homogenizers, Centrifuges, and various Filter Presses and Pumps.
- Excellent computer software skills and strong math skills.
