The Controls and Calibration Technician II's primary duties are to provide maintenance, calibration, controls/automation, and troubleshooting support for facility and manufacturing critical systems. This is done by testing, calibrating, and recording instruments throughout MANE facilities. Techniques used will conform to engineering principles established by MANE and other industry standards. The technician will have vast knowledge pertaining to Metrology and experience with ISA standards. They are intimately knowledgeable of the plant processes and process equipment. Key competencies: Analytical Skills, Communication, and Interpersonal Skills, Mathematical and Schematic and Blueprint Reading Skills, and Computer Skills. This position requires broad knowledge and experience in the calibrations field.

1st Shift

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform their own calibration and controls/automation work without supervision.
- Utilize experience to create and maintain calibration standards used to service equipment.
- Must be able to clearly communicate calibration issues and processes to maintenance and production when needed.
- Prepare written work instructions for calibration procedures.
- Manage, maintain, and be able to present all calibration records for all SQF and customer audits.
- Skilled use of systems (i.e. SAP, LOTO, spare part management, etc.) used to complete jobs
- Construct and maintain a database of all instrumentation at the Woodlawn facilities.
- Maintain a catalogued storage system of calibration equipment, programs, and software.
- Coordinate equipment calibration services with multiple facilities for third party Calibrations.
- Update, maintain, and review calibration records in accordance with MANE standard procedures and NIST standards.
- Ability to assist in specifying instruments for projects.
- Ability to program VFDs, PLCs, and HMIs for production use.
- Assist with FATs (Factory acceptance testing) and equipment commissioning
- Coordinate equipment automation/control upgrades with production areas.
- Provide mechanical support as needed to shift technicians.
- Assist in providing vacation coverage with Maintenance Mechanics as needed.
- Work with Engineering Manager and production to establish and maintain a spare parts inventory.
- Use knowledge and maintenance/calibration information systems to drive continuous improvements throughout all facilities.
- Coordinate time with customers to teach about calibration procedures and following customer guidelines.
- Follow all GMP and Safety rules and regulations (personal hygiene, trash removal, etc.), including proper use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow all PM, Sanitation, Food Safety and Quality Procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required with Vocational schooling in maintenance preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Controls/Calibration Technician.
- Thorough understanding of preventative maintenance programs and proactive measures required.
- Experience with CMMS systems, PLC programming, and set up experience desired.
- HVAC, compressed air, water treatment, and boiler systems experience desired.
- Advanced Electrical knowledge related to power, controls schemes, and troubleshooting of electrical circuits.
- Advanced knowledge of pressure, flow, level etc. transmitters and receivers. This includes brands associated with each device.
- Advanced experience with calibrations software and tools.
- Flavor industry desired.
