We have an immediate opening to hire an EHS Environmental Specialist for our Lebanon, Ohio facility. Reporting into the site’s EHS organization, this position will be responsible to align environmental compliance processes with business goals and to engage employees to promote behaviors that will achieve the highest levels of productivity in the safest possible manner while meeting all regulatory requirements. Coordinate various inspections, record keeping, and reporting required to comply with site permits and regulatory requirements. Interact with and represent the company with outside agencies. Perform routine interpretations of existing regulations, as well as anticipating, researching, and determining the impact of new and emerging environmental, safety and health regulations.

Major Responsibilities
- Partner with plant leadership and serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding interpretation of federal, state and local environmental compliance regulations
- Aligns corporate and local EHS goals and strategies
- Participate in/lead EHS audits and inspections developing remediation plans as needed
- Participate in/lead environmental compliance including, but not limited to: Water (waste, storm); Solid Waste (hazardous and non-hazardous); Air (internal respiratory and external emissions)
- Maintain positive relationships with federal, state and local regulators
- Maintain and ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state and local EHS regulations
- Lead or participate in employee training programs regarding EHS behaviors and compliance
- Provides technical assistance to management and engineering staff as needed regarding compliance requirements for EPA, DOT, OSHA, and other governmental regulatory agencies that may apply to new processes.
- Prepare and submit environmental, health and safety regulatory and company required reports.
- Assists with job safety analyses/risk assessments, employee training, incident investigations, inspections, data collection/analysis, program/procedure writing and internal audits.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of various industrial control mechanisms
- Liaison with ESG and Maintenance representatives around environmental reporting and utility tracking
- Serve as environmental lead on Maintenance and Engineering projects (both capital and continuous improvement) to ensure all environment relevant aspects are adequately addressed during the design, estimating and execution phases
- Consistent with MANE’s environmental commitments, every employee shall actively participate in relevant education/training based upon corporate and local environmental objectives. - Assists with preparing metrics pertinent to EHS activities.
- Handles special tasks and projects as requested to meet company objectives.
- All potential candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States, employer sponsorship is not available.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College / University in Environmental Health & Safety, Chemical or Environmental Engineering or related discipline
- One (1) or more years in manufacturing facilities with significant experience in environmental compliance programs including air, wastewater, stormwater, and hazardous waste.
- Strong current knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Demonstrated knowledge or success executing compliance programs regarding Federal, State and local Safety and Environmental regulations
- Three (3) or more years of Environmental program experience in manufacturing or other industrial settings
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or Occupational Safety, Engineering or related discipline
