Maintaining the Waiting Area: The hostess ensures that the waiting area is clean and organized. This may include tidying up menus, ensuring proper lighting, and making sure the space is comfortable for guests waiting for their tables.

Providing Menus: Hostesses often distribute menus to guests, explaining any specials or promotions, and answering basic questions about the menu items.

Coordinating with Servers: Hostesses work closely with servers to manage table turnover efficiently. They communicate with the kitchen and service staff to ensure a smooth flow of guests to their tables.

Handling Special Requests: Hostesses may be responsible for accommodating special requests from guests, such as seating preferences, special occasions, or dietary restrictions.

Maintaining a Clean Hostess Stand: Keeping the hostess stand tidy and well-organized is important for creating a positive first impression for guests.

Understanding the Restaurant Layout: Hostesses should have a good understanding of the restaurant's layout, including table numbers and sections, to efficiently seat guests.
