CAD Technician - Land Development Engineering

Job Summary: Works on routine calculations and drawings with some supervision and reviews engineering designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. Accountability and Duties: Ensures proposal protocol is followed Mentors and assists with training other CAD staff Accurately completes CAD drawings using firm standards Cooperates with engineers, architects, planners, technicians, and draftspersons in the conduct of project activities. Performs basic calculations at the directions of design teams Accurately completes improvement plans: grading, utility, paving, drainage Completes drawing preparation in allotted timeframe Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects for self, team members, and subordinates Prepares and monitors project budgets Keeps supervisor informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services Provides an accurate accounting of time spent on projects with descriptions for each time entry on a weekly basis Required Certificates, Licenses, Registration: Valid driver’s license. Education and/or Experience: Associates degree or technical experience One (1) year of experience, or more, required Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent oral and technical written communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to design/engineer moderately difficult engineering projects Available to work nights and weekends to complete a project as necessary Ability to make independent decisions within a general framework Knowledge of the industry and related software Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D, LDD and Microsoft Office Must be fluent in the English language Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
