Manhattan Area Housing Partnership, Inc. (MAHP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) dedicated to providing affordable housing solutions for low-income individuals and families. As we conclude a successful tenure with our retiring Executive Director, we are seeking a dynamic and mission-driven leader to guide our organization into its next chapter.
Position Overview:
The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership and management for MAHP's housing programs, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and HUD-funded housing development initiatives. This role involves overseeing housing applications, compliance with regulatory agencies, and fostering capacity building within our community.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of housing programs and initiatives.
- Manage and support a diverse team, including staff development and training.
- Oversee budget management and resource development, including grant writing and management.
- Supervise and manage existing housing developments and projects under construction, ensuring compliance with all required documentation.
- Collaborate with local partner organizations and government entities to maximize community resources.
- Cultivate relationships with a diverse population, promoting understanding.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of affordable housing, rental management, and construction of residential properties and real estate.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in non-profit management, with a focus on housing management, development and programs.
- Strong understanding of LIHTC, HUD regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in budget management and resource development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Mission-oriented, with a passion for serving low-income individuals and families.
- Familiarity with residential construction, both new and rehabilitative.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and community stakeholders.
