Summary
We are seeking an Associate Product Developer to join our dynamic team at Manhattan Beachwear, Inc. The position of Associate Product Developer collaborates with and assist the design team on building seasonal swimwear assortments. Participates in development and execution of swimwear from concept through production release.
Responsibilities
· Collaborate with designer to develop each season’s product line while adhering to design calendar
· Assist Designer on RM sourcing and development progress of style
· Provide support to design team in seasonal art send out including: PLM support, preparing solids and prints for send out and assist in print strike off and color comments
· Manage development tracking and updates for package programs and organize product development files
· Liaise with vendors to ensure timeliness and accuracy of all raw materials and samples
· Produce timely illustrator sketches and manage linesheet set-up, updates, and distribution using Illustrator
· Support fabric and trim research, as well as manage and track developments from initial request through production approval (including send outs for embroidery/screen prints); through effective communication and follow-up with overseas vendors.
· Daily communication with cross functional teams (patternmaking, upper-level design, sourcing, production)
· Create Estimated Cost Tech Pack from for estimated cost request, and track cost request status
· Manage all BOM changes/revisions to style in PLM system and communicate to Purchasing and Production
· Complete BOM and finalize completion of production Tech Pack in PLM
· Proficiency in Photoshop to recolor prints, produce mock-ups, and to collaborate with design team
· Prepare design presentations for internal meetings as well as market and licensing meetings.
· Maintain design resources and materials (fabrics, trims, sample references)
· Participate and/or manage (based on experience) in seasonal concept building and design direction research through creating mood boards, setting color stories, and print selection.
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements
2-4 years experience working in Women's Swimwear required
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design preferred
· Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (ie. Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge), Blue Cherry/ PLM systems
· Understanding of BOM requirements
· Highly organized and detail oriented with knack for urgency, accuracy and efficiency in regards to all product development
· Excellent communication skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well independently and with teams
· Possessing the trait of being highly organized or following a systematic method of performing a task.
· Ability to be internally driven to perform a task to the best of one’s ability using his or her own drive or initiative.
· Solid grasp of fabrications, characteristics and functions and good understanding of fabric printing techniques.
· Critical thinker to be able to translate ideas from concept to finish product.
· Excellent work integrity, collaborative team player, and highly responsible.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, sit for extended periods of time and walk intermittently. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
