Career Opportunities with Manhattan UniversityReports to : Director of Undergraduate AdmissionsTravel Percentage : Up to 50%Openings : 3Position Summary : The Admissions Office seeks a dynamic and industrious Admissions Counselor to work as a member of the Admissions staff to recruit prospective students for Manhattan University's undergraduate programs. Responsibilities include managing assigned travel territories through extensive travel for approximately 12 weeks in the fall and 8 weeks in the spring by visiting high schools and community organizations, and attending college fairs. Flexibility, willingness to travel, and to work evenings and weekends are a must.Responsibilities : Assists in creating programs and activities to recruit and retain students.Reviews prospective students applications and directs them to the appropriate sources for guidance on courses of study, financial aid, scholarships, or other information.Meets with prospective students and answers questions about the university, areas of study, and opportunities for students.Gives tours of the campus when student tour guides are not available.Ensures that application information is entered into the student database by admissions office clerical staff.Ensures that applicants complete the required paperwork and meet applicable regulations.Travels to high schools, technical schools, and community or junior colleges to promote the university.Performs other related duties as assigned.Qualifications and Requirements : Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Extensive knowledge about the university, its faculty, and its student population.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.Ability to establish and maintain relationships with high school influencers, community organizations and prospective students in a competitive environment.Enthusiastic personality, strong problem solving skills and attention to detail are essential.Valid driver’s license.Ability to travel daily and to work weekends and evenings as necessary.SLATE and Banner experience a plus.Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.Bachelor's Degree required.
