Job Description
Workshop is looking for a Platform Engineer to help scale our infrastructure that sends millions of customer emails. We are on pace to substantially grow this year, but need a motivated engineer to help bring our platform to the next level.
As a Platform Engineer, You Will
- Establish and continuously improve our monitoring systems so incidents are not only detected, but also prevented
- Work to scale infrastructure that is responsible for sending and measuring millions of customer emails in order to support our largest customers and save costs
- Work closely with our product engineering team to support and manage database performance
- Support product engineers to deliver new features quickly and reliably
- Participate in on-call responsibilities
- Have experience setting up logging and monitoring internal and third party systems to proactively scale resources and prevent incidents
- Have experience with monitoring tools like Datadog, statsd, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar
- Have experience with production services on cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or similar
- Be passionate about optimizing and automating systems when you can
- Be biased towards action by focusing on iterative development and the importance of delivering continuous value to customers
- Communicate and collaborate well with software engineers and non-technical stakeholders
- Be flexible, pragmatic and enjoy helping a small team get a big job done
- Experience managing PostgreSQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch is a plus
