The Field Engineer provides support and entry-level construction activities to our field operations, specifically the Superintendents and / or Project Managers. An understanding of general construction activities as they relate to road and bridge building is essential, as is a willingness to learn and advance in the industry.
Major duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :
- Coordinating and participating in survey / layout of the work, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Coordinate and / or participate in Quality Control requirements and ensuring QA QC program compliance on the project
- Learning and comprehend all aspects of jobsite safety, documentation, and promotion onsite
- The learning and promotion of maintenance of traffic activities on the projects, and the ability and willingness to obtain required certifications
- Calculate data in support of field operations
- Keep accurate records in field books / logs, including data for weekly billing quantities and cost control
- Learn and understand the sequencing of construction activities and the job in detail
- Demonstrate the ability to calculate concrete quantities and monitor the placement in a timely manner (quality and quantity of concrete, form movements, etc.)
- Communicate and coordinate with Superintendent and subcontractors for activity support
- Promote a culture of efficiency and accountability
