Manhattan’s Marine Division is currently seeking a Friction Crane Mechanic - Field.
Operations would be focusing on Eastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The equipment ranges from dozers, excavators and cranes to tugboats and winches. Field mechanic will travel to job sites to repair equipment on site. Position may require occasional overnight stays near job sites due to a remote location.
Shift 50 hours each week, Monday through Saturday.
Diesel Service Technician Responsibilities:
- Perform equipment repairs in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed and that fellow employees do the same.
- Troubleshoot problems on all equipment using test equipment, tools, service manuals, and service bulletins.
- Utilize all departmental reference materials, service and parts manuals as needed to complete the job.
- Continually study and upgrade proficiency in construction equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Keep paperwork up-to-date at all times, personal and company (Work orders - Physical Card - Log Books - Time Sheets).
- Analyze repair steps in order to do it in the best/most efficient way possible.
- Operate construction equipment for diagnostics and repair.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Own hand tools to facilitate completion of job tasks. Specialty tools will be provided.
- Construction equipment experience preferred, including mechanical, electrical & hydraulic
- Working knowledge of gas and diesel engines along with mechanical and hydrostatic powertrains.
- Able to troubleshoot electrical problems and read electrical schematics.
- Understand hydraulic system operation and components, diagnose & repair inoperative
- Demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in construction equipment repair.
- Ability to read and use reference materials, both on paper and on the computer.
- Ability to perform essential job functions, such as lifting 100 pounds; stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, balancing, and climbing and exposure to heat and cold.
- Ability to manage time with little supervision
- REQUIRED – 5 years on the mechanics of a Friction Crane.
