Manhattan Youth is seeking certified Lifeguard / Swim Instructors to join our aquatics team at our Downtown Community Center in Tribeca. Candidates must be punctual, reliable, personable, and have a strong desire to work with children and families.

This is a part-time position, 10-30 hours per week, and will require a combination of Lifeguard and Swim Instructor shifts. We are seeing applicants with flexible schedules, as shifts may vary week to week. Our pool is open :

  • Monday-Friday 8 : 30am-9 : 00pm
  • Saturday and Sunday 8 : 30am-5 : 00pm

Pay :   $18-22 per hour, depending upon experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all members to the facility and create a warm, welcoming family environment
  • Enforce all aquatics facility policies, rules and regulations
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in and around aquatics facility
  • Assist children in our after-school programs
  • Wear proper uniform and be alert and ready to respond at all times
  • Perform other related job duties as required

    • Qualifications

  • Certified Lifeguard (Must hold valid American Red Cross Lifeguard certifications, or equivalent as recognized by the NYC-DOH)
  • CPR / AED certification, renewed within last 12 months
  • Ability to maintain a positive and energetic attitude and contribute to a positive team culture
  • Swim instructor experience or experience working with children is a plus
  • Weekend availability is a plus
