Summary

Provide a leadership/supervisory role in the summer Playground Program.

Essential Functions

• Oversee day to day operations within the confines of site location.
• Create weekly themes and newsletters.
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed at arrival and dismissal.
• Always ensure a safe environment for children.
• Assist in coordinating structured games, activities, and crafts.
• Responsible for all equipment/supplies at site location.
• Ensure daily playground inspections are completed.
• Liaison with Youth Program Manger.
• Responsible for the cleanliness of supplies and the playground site location.

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time and intermittently.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms, push items overhead, occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Ability to talk, hear, and see.
• Dexterity is mandatory as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers.
• Occasional lifting of up to 15lbs.

• Provide direct leadership and instruction.
• Effectively communicate with parents and participants in the program.
• Effectively communicate rules, guidelines, scoring, and possible scenarios regarding activities.
• Communicate to children from grades 1-6. Speak clearly to large and small groups.

• Knowledge of various recreational games and activities.
• Good leadership, communication, and social skills.

Abilities

• Communicate effectively with participants and parents.
• Give clear and concise instructions.

Required Education and Experience

• 1 Year Child Management experience
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.

• Must pass required State and Federal Background Checks
