Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience required
- Minimum 5-8 years progressive law enforcement experience
- Maintain PA School Safety Coordinator certification
- Experience in K-12 schools preferred, not required.
- Ability to work in a team environment and work under stress. Ability to collaborate effectively with people and be able to support others.
- Will have a good history of reliability and service, and will demonstrate flexibility, a strong worth ethic, and a team-orientation and the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
- Ability to work in a computerized environment is required. Must have good management skills and the ability to multitask and think clearly in a demanding environment as well as maturity and discretion regarding communication is required.
- Ability to do job responsibilities with minimal supervision and ability to schedule time to meet deadlines.
- Strong team orientation and ability to work collaboratively with all members of the school community.
- Must be able to travel throughout the District.

Additional Information: Manheim Township School District is seeking applicants for the position of Director of School Safety and Security. This position is responsible for ensuring overall safety and security for the district. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality that contributes daily to the efficient operation of several buildings, grounds, and their security systems, security personnel and protocols. The Director will serve as the liaison between building occupants and administrators, and outside vendors responsible for, or having to do with, building operations, and safety & security. This individual will manage, facilitate and present trainings for all MTSD staff relating to emergency procedures and school safety. This position manages regular communications with PA Office of Safe Schools and other federal, state and local agencies including local law enforcement agencies.
