Summary
Work with the Nature Day Camp Director and co-counselors to facilitate the day-to-day operations of the camp, as well as provide a fun, safe, and memorable camp experience.
Essential Functions
Plan and implement environmental education lessons alongside co-counselors.Provide a safe environment for all campers.Lead and assist in coordinating structured games, activities, and crafts.Keep track of supplies including sporting equipment, crafts, and board game pieces.Promote a positive outdoor experience.Supervise campers' daily activities.Related Functions

Ability to talk, hear, and see.Must be able to traverse park trails, with varying degrees of difficulty, at least 1.5 milesAble to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time and intermittently, with or without accommodation.Ability to supervise students in multiple environments including in nature on trails, fields, and woodlands.Competencies
Willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR certificationWillingness to engage with parents and communicate about their child's growth and success.Knowledge of English word usage, spelling, and punctuation.Skills
Knowledge of various recreational games and activities.Good leadership, communication, and social skills.Abilities
Communicate effectively with participants and parents.Give clear and concise instructions.Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or G.E.D.1-year experience supervising children.Must be at least eighteen (18) years of agePreferred Education and Experience
Enrolled in a secondary education program for Education, Park and Rec, or related field.1-year supervising children.Additional Eligibility Requirements
