- JOB TITLE : Speech Language Pathologist part-time or full time
- JOB QUALIFICATIONS :
- An earned Master's degree in speech and language pathology. State of Michigan certification and the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and is authorized to provide speech and language services to students with disabilities.DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES : Diagnosis of speech and language disorders in students 0-26 years of age.Planning and implementing appropriate therapy and intervention strategies. Evaluating students' annual progress.Providing consultation and professional inservice to teachers, parents, and ancillary staff.Serving on preschool, autism, hearing impaired, and other diagnostic teams.Serving on professional committees, which involve the teacher of the speech and language impaired's professional expertise.Completing state and federal IEPC requirements, following MISD policy for ordering of special equipment which may be necessary to assist in the education of a speech and language impaired student.Serving as IEPC chairperson and coordinating students' speech therapy and special education programming.Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the Director of Special Education and / or designated administrator may assign.
