Qualifications:
- Valid Wisconsin DPI 5051 License, School Principal
- Successful teaching experience preferably at the middle school level
- Successful experience in school administration or other educational leadership position preferred
- Commitment to and belief that all learners have the ability to be successful
- Ability to provide instructional leadership by linking curriculum, instruction, and assessment to meet the diverse and individual needs of students
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff with a shared vision of teaching and learning that leads to student success
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with students and staff
- Evidence of a commitment to utilize, when applicable, technology in instructional learning and programs

Job Summary:
This position provides visionary leadership with a solid focus on student learning and achievement. Leads staff in the collaborative implementation of high quality instruction and assessment practices that positively impact all learners. Established a safe and orderly environment for all staff and students.
Essential Job Duties:
- Creates a collaborative culture founded in learning for all.
- Creates a climate of trust, respect and appreciation among students and staff, and models behavior that aligns with the district’s mission, vision and core values.
- Develops a collaborative culture that embraces a focus on learning and a results orientation.
- Works closely with staff and provides instructional leadership to identify and align resources and instructional practices that meet student’s needs to maximize student achievement and meet established goals.
- Promotes Professional Development and instructional practices that are evidence based, incorporates the use of data, and results in increased student progress.
- Provides leadership for the planning, development and facilitation of staff in-service programs and staff meetings.
- Assumes a lead role in supporting and facilitating a culture of collaboration.
- Works closely with the school counselor and other members of the Pupil Services Department to meet the social, emotional and mental health needs of the students.
- Establishes working relationships with pupil services staff, school resource officers and other staff to effectively develop plans for addressing the needs of students in need of intervention beyond those provided by the classroom teacher.
- Participates in applicable IEP meetings.
- Works closely with staff to collaboratively plan, implement, and monitor personalized pathways to academic achievement and enrichment for students.
- Assists with screening, interviewing and selection of certified teaching staff and non-certified support staff.
- Directly supervises teachers and other professional staff including the evaluation of such staff utilizing the Educator Effectiveness System.
- Supervises and evaluates non-certified staff in accordance with the District’s evaluation protocol.
- Works closely with the Director of Human Resources in employee matters related to staff improvement plans, discipline, non-renewal or dismissal.
- Communicates and adheres to district policies; develops, maintains and communicates building procedures to staff and students.
- Establishes and monitors an on-boarding process to support and assist all new staff in their instructional practices, and their growth and development as effective educators.
- Is responsible for developing, managing and adhering to applicable building budgets and program related budgets.
- Is responsible for adherence to the district’s safety, emergency and disaster procedures, including the communication and training of such plans to staff and students.
- Coordinates and supervises the processes involved in any applicable state standardized testing.
- Maintains the district’s standards relative to confidentiality of information regarding students and staff.
- Assumes responsibility for professional growth by attending conferences, seminars, and other applicable learning opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff and the general public. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
