What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electric Distribution Engineer position at Manitowoc Public Utilities?
Due to a retirement this year, we are looking for an Electrical Distribution Engineer.
The Electric Distribution Engineer provides technical work in power system design, troubleshooting, planning, training, procurement in support of utility construction, maintenance, and operations. This individual performs as an operations and maintenance staff advisor and consultant for technical specialties and projects. Work is performed without appreciable direction and considerable latitude is exercised in determining technical objectives of assignment.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides field engineering oversight and direction for activities such as major maintenance and operation evolutions and commissioning.
Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination with internal and external organizations.
Executes the design, material purchase, bidding, construction, operation, and maintenance of electric distribution systems.
Monitors and evaluates electric facility conditions to identify engineered improvements for immediate, short and long-term priorities.
Takes on individual responsibility for continuous self-development of technical skills and competencies.
Sample of Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited curriculum.
High level of technical knowledge, judgement and capability in engineering discipline.
Possession of a Wisconsin Professional Engineer License is preferred but not required.
Starting Pay Rate: $80,496 - $120,342 based on experience.
