MAPS Center for Learning
A position as a 12-month Custodian in Charge of Building is available at MAPS Center for Learning beginning as soon as possible. This is a full-time 8 hours per day/5 days per week position (7:00 a.m - 3:30 p.m).
Summary of duties:
The position of Custodian in Charge of Building was established for the purposes of maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable facility for students, staff, and the public; providing set-up and tear-down for school and public events; ensuring that assignments are completed in a safe, proper, and timely manner and overseeing and supporting the custodial staff in the performance of their assignments.
Qualifications Required:
- Supervise staff including assigning, scheduling, and checking work, explaining work procedures, and establishing work priorities.
- Order custodial supplies.
- Clean district facility and content using a variety of equipment, chemical products, and cleaning apparatus.
- Replenish consumables and perform minor maintenance, such as changing light bulbs, unplugging toilets, painting, etc., and remove snow, ice, and garbage.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and requirements in an educational setting.
- Responsible for building security including checking and securing the building, monitoring activities in the building, setting up functions, and responding to requests to access rooms.
- Understand and carry out both written and oral instructions.
- Recordkeeping skills to maintain custodial schedules, order supplies, monitor supply usage, and complete monthly work orders and reports.
- Communication skills for interviewing, conveying work tasks, training custodial staff, and providing general information for community users.
- Technology skills for Time Sheets, E-Mail, Work Requests, and department communications or related tasks as required.
- Must be willing to be an active and positive team member of the staff to see that the customer’s needs are met.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally.
Rate of Pay:
$23.32 - $23.85
