What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Specialist I position at Mankato Clinic Ltd?
Hybrid position - rotates working on-site 1 week of every 7 weeks
Full-time, 80 hours per pay period.
Monday-Friday, hours are flexible between 7 : 00am-5 : 00pm.
When on-site, office is located at the Children's Health Center - 1421 Premier Dr, Mankato
This position is responsible for performing various routine clerical tasks ensuring an accurate and timely claim adjudication process for payment of medical services within our medical billing process.
The Insurance Specialist I follows up with appropriate payers to ensure timely and accurate payment for medical services. This position demonstrates a thorough knowledge of payer policies, guidelines, appeals, corrected / voided claim submission and stays up to date on all payer changes, responding timely to requests for information and concerns regarding medical billing information. They display excellent customer service skills and are able to communicate professionally and effectively. They utilize and fully understand all Clinic applications such as the Practice Management software, electronic health record, and claims scrubber. Daily tasks include working any assigned insurance carrier, including floating where needed, as applicable.
Education and Experience Required :
- Excellent reading comprehension.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively while maintaining heavy workload.
- Comfortable using computer software and applications for daily duties.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with insurance companies and patients.
- Excellent organizational skills and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve and multi task with strong attention to detail.
