Mankiewicz Coatings LLC is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Administrative Assistant to join our team in beautiful Charleston, SC. This role will carry out organizational tasks to ensure the Research and Development Lab can function optimally and efficiently.
Role Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and Maintenance of Consumables/Storage: Keep track of laboratory supplies, ensuring that all necessary materials are available and properly stored.
- Documentation and Archiving: Document data, manage deliveries, handle logistical tasks, and maintain accurate records.
- General Organization and Cleaning: Perform smaller cleaning tasks and manage general laboratory organization, including waste management.
- Equipment Maintenance: Take responsibility for the lab equipment for lab maintenance such as autoclaves, water ultra-purification systems, scales, and pH meters.
- Preparation of Buffers and Solutions: Assist in the preparation of laboratory buffers and solutions according to standard protocols.
- General administrative tasks in the lab.
- Initiate and review technical data sheets.
- Initiate and follow up of necessary actions regarding EHS compliance.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Requires flexibility and understanding that this position may be required to perform duties outside the duties listed above in order to meet the mission and goals of Mankiewicz Coatings.
Role Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Experience with SAP software (preferred).
- Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint)
- Experience with technical data sheets preferred
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
Physical Demands/Work Conditions:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Requires frequent walking, standing, heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching.
- Exposure to fumes and hazardous chemicals.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone.
