Production Supervisor

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing production staff, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Assign work orders and tasks to shop floor employees based on their skills and workload.
• Provide on-the-job training and coaching to staff on proper techniques and safety procedures.
• Oversees the daily workflow and assignments of the production shift.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.

Production Management:

• Ensure production schedules are met by monitoring progress and addressing delays.
• Optimize workflow and identify areas for efficiency improvements.
• Monitor quality control standards and identify any defects or non-conforming products.
• Implement corrective actions to address quality issues.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Oversee the proper maintenance and calibration of shop floor machinery and equipment.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and repairs.
• Ensure proper use and safety procedures are followed when operating machinery.

Safety Compliance:

• Enforce all safety regulations and procedures on the shop floor.
• Investigate safety incidents and implement preventative measures.

Reporting and Communication:

• Regularly report production status, quality issues, and any operational challenges to management.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills

• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery operation, and quality control procedures relevant to the industry.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to motivate and manage a team, delegate tasks effectively, and resolve conflicts.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and troubleshoot production issues, implement solutions, and make timely decisions.
• Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication with both shop floor employees and management to convey information clearly. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in production.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years experience working in a manufacturing environment or related industry.
• Lead operator or supervisor in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Basic CNC operation preferred
• Overhead crane and forklift operator preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to traverse the production facility
• Must be able to kneel, squat, climb, and reach overhead
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds at a time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
