Sales Associate/Cashier - Liquor Store

Job Overview
We are seeking a Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and the ability to communicate effectively with customers. As a Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the shopping experience by providing exceptional service, assisting customers with their needs, and promoting our products.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions accurately.
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions, sales, and product features to effectively upsell and cross-sell.
• Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits to customers.
• Assist with stocking and maintaining inventory levels; communicate any inventory issues/concerns to leadership
• Maintain store safety and cleanliness standards on the sales floor, stock room, bathroom, etc.
• Provide excellent phone etiquette when handling customer inquiries or concerns.
• Utilize basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing.
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently, including unloading carts, and bagging/boxing/loading packages
• Verify customer identification and adhere to all minor policies
• Balance a register drawer; handle cash, credit cards
• Direct customers to properly located needed items

Experience

• Previous experience in retail sales or liquor store environments is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
• Familiarity with POS systems is a plus, along with experience in supervising or training staff.
• A proactive approach to sales, including experience in upselling techniques and product demonstrations.
• Basic math skills are essential for accurate transaction processing.

Requirements

• Walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8-10 hours a day
• Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead and repeatedly
• Must be 21 or older
• Uniform requirements fitted clothes, closed toed shoes, belt

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
