Position Summary: This is a part –time, 20–25-hour work week role. The Volunteer Center Coordinator is a vital role in support of our Volunteer Center Manager and 3,000 volunteers by maintaining our CERVIS volunteer database including scheduling of volunteers, maintaining the daily volunteer schedule and volunteer related data including accurately recording volunteer hours. Our Volunteer Coordinator will also receive, manage and communicate responses for email and telephone inquiries from individuals and groups with a focus on excellent customer service. Additionally, our Volunteer Coordinator will coordinate our volunteer recognition program (# of hours served) and appreciation activities and special projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily management of our CERVIS volunteer software program with a focus on accuracy.
Providing excellent customer service to email and telephone inquiries from individuals and groups in regard to our volunteer program.
Manages our Volunteer Tiered Recognition program in a timely and accurate manner in order to provide timely appreciation and recognition to our incredible volunteers.
Builds positive relationships with a diversity of volunteer personalities, beliefs and backgrounds.
- Participates as a positive member of our Volunteer Center Staff team.
Maintains strict confidentiality with volunteer/donor information and records.
Assists in coordinating and supporting the successful execution of our Volunteer Appreciation Event and Volunteer Appreciation Week activities.
Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a high school diploma and 3 years’ related experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook and data entry and data base management.
Outstanding skills in both oral and written communication; demonstrated ability to communicate with tact and to provide a high level of customer service; proven ability to communicate professionally and effectively with a diverse group of constituencies including staff, volunteers, and the public.
Maintains a professional appearance at all times and represents MANNA in diverse settings.
Must provide proof of current, valid North Carolina driver’s license with clean MVR and auto insurance

Working Conditions: This position works in both an office and warehouse environment.
Physical Demands: The physical demands required are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting. This includes: the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work.
Functions also require ability to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus; close visual acuity to perform activities including but not limited to preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading.
Travel: Occasional travel to sites to assist with food drive activities may be required. Current driver’s license required; copy of current auto insurance; and clean MVR required.
Schedule: Preferred schedule is 9:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. Mon. – Fri. with the opportunity for some flexibility. The ability to work occasional evening or weekend shifts for special events or project needs.
In instances of a federal, state or locally declared emergency or order, MANNA FoodBank is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all employees may be called upon to perform regular or emergent duties.
Compensation and Benefits: The starting pay for the Volunteer Scheduling Coordinator is $22.10 per hour. MANNA is also thrilled to offer:
