A thriving Biotech firm in the Billerica area is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Daily management of accounts payable department professionals on all related functions of invoice and expense report processing, vendor inquiries, account reconciliation, and internal controls.
- Apply accounting policies and procedures to reflect current company direction and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Coordinate and facilitate the timely month end close of the accounts payable system in accordance with the close schedule.
- Communicate, monitor and enforce the company’s accounts payable policies and procedures. Update/Create new policies and procedures as needed.
- Collaborate with operations team to provide timely analytical support.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual accounts payable reporting, including general ledger reconciliations and balance sheet accruals.
- Manage the investigation of amounts due from the company for goods and services purchased. Prepare reports on the status of payables.
- Reconcile monthly vendor statements to internal aging analysis.
- Liaise with auditors for the performance of their quarterly and annual reviews.
- Manage and review monthly Sarbanes Oxley (S0404) key control compliance.
- Stay current on GAAP accounting policies.
- Perform other related accounting and financial reporting duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related discipline. Will accept a combination of relevant work experience, courses and certifications.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in an accounts payable department.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Strong knowledge of accounting practices in accordance with GAAP.
- Demonstrated successful experience with the set up and maintenance of vendor master files.
- Ability to formulate flexible strategies and action plans to achieve results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical problem solving ability.
- Highly organized/strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential information and maintain its integrity.
Compensation: $100k
