Our client, an incredibly successful financial services firm in Danvers, is looking to add an Accounts Payable Specialist to their accounting team. This position will oversee Accounts Payable transactions and provide Staff Accountant support for the company. As a key member of the Accounting team, you will process payment requests, ensure submitted documents are in compliance with established policies and procedures and gain exposure into the larger day to day accounting function. The position requires an experienced, organized and highly motivated team player with strong initiative and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Review and audit payment requests for appropriate documentation
- Handle the execution of all A/P transactions
- Maintain efficient and effective accounting and internal control processes; using updated technology as available
- Assist senior level team members with month-end closing process
- Provide Staff Accountant support
- Provide regular and timely communication to internal and external customers regarding payment inquires; resolve related issues/matters efficiently
- Provide first level counseling to internal customers regarding policies and procedures
- Participate in the evaluation of internal controls for compliance with Sarbanes Oxley
- Ad hoc projects as requested
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 2-5 years experience in full cycle A/P processes
- Solid knowledge of an ERP system(s)
- Strong understanding of General Ledger system and Accounts Payable processing
- Detail oriented with the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy
- Strong work ethic and sense of discretion, with exceptional organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Compensation:
$90k
