A thriving Software company in Chelmsford is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team! The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day Payroll and assist with additional Human Resources administration for the company. This position is an add to staff due to the company’s continued growth and success.

- Compile payroll data such as hours worked; sales volume, bonuses, and commissions; monies to be withheld for taxes; employee contributions to insurance and retirement plans; etc.
- Compute wages and deductions, review for accuracy, and post to payroll records.
- Prepare and issue paychecks.
- Update master payroll records by verifying and recording changes affecting net wages.
- Keep records of leave pay and nontaxable wages.
- Maintain records for vacations and sick-day eligibility.
- Prepare and file all hiring and termination paperwork including COBRA letters.
- Stay informed of trends and changes in the human resources and payroll field.
- Respond to all related inquiries for Payroll and Benefit activities.
- Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 year of equivalent experience.
- Must have excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate in person, over the phone and in writing as well as strong interpersonal and customer services skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook and ADP.
- Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
- Understanding of all payroll and benefits policies and programs.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and deal with highly confidential information appropriately in a fast-paced environment.
