Purpose of the Job : Assist the Director of Activities in developing and implementing the community's Activity Program to ensure activities help enrich and engage the lives of our residents.
Financial Responsibility : Minor damage or loss is possible, but unlikely, if duties are performed with reasonable care.
Responsibility for Contacts : Position involves communication with individuals inside and / or outside the Company, including direct contact with residents, where the nature of the information provided usually follows an established pattern.
Equipment : General office equipment : fax machine, copier, computer, telephone, calculator.
Complexity of Work : Semi-routine work requiring some improvision on isolated practices and procedures.
Complexity of Supervision : Work performed under readily available supervision.
Responsibilities and Tasks :

1. Consistent and predictable attendance.
2. Assist the Director of Activities with the development and implementation of the community's Activity Program.
3. Promote activities in a way that engages residents.
4. Facilitate socialization among residents.
5. Help decorate the community for special events, seasons and holidays.
6. In collaboration with the Home Office, Executive Director and Director of Resident Relations promote and maintain social media presence.
7. Attend training as required as well as complete all Relias training as scheduled.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Information Required for Completely Satisfactory Performance :
- Knowledge of principles for providing customer services including customer needs assessments and meeting quality standards for services.
- Ability to give full attention to what residents are saying, taking time to understand, asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting.
Education and Licenses : Requires the ability to use fractions, decimals and commercial arithmetic. Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation is required. Equivalent to a 4-year high school education.
Experience : 3 to 6 months working in a recreational or elder daycare.
