Position Summary : The DC Associate has overall responsibility for receiving and moving materials within warehouse. An integral part of the team, the DC Associate verifies the inventory quantity and assists in inventory level maintenance, maintains complete and accurate paperwork, and operates warehouse equipment in a safe manner. Primary responsibilities of the DC Associate include : ? Marks pallets with identifying store information ? Uses lift equipment (manual pallet jack for Worldpac or Forklift (Advance Auto will certify)) as needed once training and certification are completed ? Pick and stage parts for store replenishment ? Uses a hand-held radio frequency device (RF Scanner) ? Having prior warehouse training or experience is preferred but not required ? Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals. ? Use basic math accurately : add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using ? whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Shift Requirements ? Candidates must make a commitment to work their full scheduled shift. The client is asking for flexibility to help on other shifts as a nice-to-have!! ? Required Overtime including weekends and holidays may be requested with little notice. Dress Code : Clean attire, including well fit waist high jeans (not baggy around the hips), clean shirt / sweatshirt with no logos or vulgar writing / images. Items heavier than 50lbs will be moved with assistance of Pallet Jack (WP) or Forklift (AAP) ? Bending / Stooping and reaching into stationary totes to retrieve product ? Standing / walking for extended periods of time ? May be exposed to moving mechanical parts while operating manual pallet jacks or forklift trucks ? • Important Notes : Everyone must be OK with driving equipment and ok with heights. Will be using : Stock picker, reach truck, electric pallet jack, and forklift. Max height of equipment - 30 ft. Will most likely start on forklift and electric pallet jack. Will be certified on equipment by AAP prior to using on assignment. Phone use on the floor - will be sent home. Can be in pocket, but do not use on the floor.
