Job Title : Logistics Operator I
Location : Freeport, TX
Schedule : Rotating 12-hour shifts (DuPont Schedule)
Pay Rate : $25 / hour
We are seeking a Logistics Operator I to join our client's team in Freeport, TX . This role is essential for supporting the packaging, shipping, and warehousing operations while maintaining high safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare packaging equipment and yourself for operation, including required clothing, paperwork, and labels.
Package final products to specified weights, sample for lab analysis, and ensure proper labeling.
Crimp lids, clean and inspect drums, and stack / palletize drums. Shrink wrap and load drums onto refrigerated trailers. Ensure trailer temperature and cleanliness are monitored.
Complete shipping documentation (e.g., drumming records, bill of lading) and submit them to appropriate personnel. Seal shipping containers and ensure compliance with site procedures.
Maintain clean packaging and warehousing areas following cGMP and client zoning guidelines.
Inspect equipment, assist with maintenance preparation, and identify necessary repairs.
Assist in inventory control, including raw materials (FIFO), and monitor storage units.
Coordinate waste management, monitor hazardous waste storage, and submit reports to the SHEQ department.
Perform monthly fire extinguisher inspections and participate in safety and self-inspection activities.
Document and report any quality deviations for follow-up and assist with nonconformance investigations.
Participate in training sessions and help develop and deliver training to colleagues.
Work according to SHE standards, promote safety behaviors, and ensure all personnel comply with safety protocols.
Complete logbook entries and ensure compliance with training, safety, and quality standards.
Requirements :
Education : High School diploma or GED required.
Experience : One or more years of experience in a manufacturing plant is preferred. Forklift and warehousing experience is a plus.
Skills :
Ability to operate personal computers and learn process control, safety, and quality procedures.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to handle equipment failures and process upsets.
Ability to lift up to 60-pound containers and operate mechanized equipment (e.g., lift trucks, hand trucks, pallet jacks).
Ability to work independently, coordinate resources, and communicate clearly (both orally and in writing).
Physical Demands : Ability to ascend / descend stairs, work at heights, and work in tight spaces for extended periods of time.
Additional Information :
Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
Requires the ability to safely operate equipment and work varying shifts with overtime and frequent production plan changes.
Must have high attention to detail, as packaging processes must be completed with precision.
