Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Accountant to join our property management finance team. The ideal candidate will have a degree or certificate in accounting and a strong interest in real estate and property management. This role involves handling financial transactions, preparing reports, and supporting daily accounting functions related to property operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records for multiple properties
- Record and reconcile rent payments, security deposits, and other tenant transactions
- Process accounts payable, including vendor invoices, maintenance costs, and utilities
- Assist with accounts receivable, rent collection, and tenant account reconciliations
- Prepare bank reconciliations and monthly financial reports
- Support property managers in budgeting and financial analysis
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, lease agreements, and property management regulations
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records for audits and tax reporting
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s (B.S.) or Associate’s (A.A.) degree in Accounting, Finance, OR an accounting certificate
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and property management accounting software (Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with property managers and tenants
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship or relevant experience in property management or real estate accounting
- Familiarity with lease agreements, CAM reconciliations, and tenant ledgers
Salary : $28 - $30
