WHAT YOU’LL DO
As our Sawyer you will be responsible for accurately cutting dimensional lumber used in the manufacturing of roof trusses and wall panels. This role plays a critical part in ensuring each piece is cut to specification, maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
THE NITTY GRITTY
- Operate automated and manual saws
- Interpret truss and panel production prints, cut sheets, and measurements
- Select appropriate lumber and ensure quality standards are met before and after cutting
- Label and organize cut materials for staging in assembly areas
- Perform routine checks on saw equipment and maintain blades for clean and precise cuts
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
- Assist with inventory management and communicate material needs to supervisors
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation
WHAT YOU NEED
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous saw operation or lumber experience in a truss or panel plant is a plus
- Ability to read a tape measurer and production drawings accurately
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with saw maintenance
- Forklift experience is a plus (training can be provided)
Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills: ability to communicate with a wide variety of people

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a warehouse setting with exposure to noise, dust, machinery, and equipment including but not limited to table saws and panel saws.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is a physically demanding job. This role requires the ability to lift up to 75-100lbs.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm with schedule flexibility.
