Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (RN) to join our team at Mansfield Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for overseeing the nursing department and ensuring the highest standards of care for our residents. This role requires a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with significant experience in nursing leadership and the ability to manage and mentor a large team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, clinical, and assessment skills and a passion for improving the lives of older adults.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and supervise the nursing team to ensure high-quality resident care and adherence to all healthcare regulations and policies.
- Conduct initial assessments, care plans, and evaluations of resident health needs, ensuring timely interventions and care adjustments.
- Develop and implement nursing protocols, care plans, and procedures that align with best practices and regulatory standards.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
- Provide direct supervision and mentorship to nursing staff, including performance evaluations, training, and development.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians, therapists, and other staff, to provide comprehensive and individualized care for residents.
- Communicate effectively with families, staff, and residents to address concerns, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction with services.
- Participate in developing and executing the community’s quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
- Respond to emergencies and provide leadership during critical situations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and reporting of resident health information.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with an active license in Vermont.
- Must have experience in nursing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role in an assisted living or long-term care setting.
- In-depth knowledge of clinical care, nursing processes, and regulatory compliance in an assisted living environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, residents, and families.
- Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop a team of nursing professionals.
- Compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional care to residents.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Certification in Geriatric Nursing (preferred) or related advanced certifications (preferred).
