Special Education Nurse Assistant (1:1)
(Substitute)
Start Date: Immediate
Responsibilities Include:
•Review primary care physician/nurse recommendations to evaluate health status of student and progress of programming
•Responsible for supervising health/safety of medically involved students and assist teacher
•In collaboration with school nurse, review, interpret, and communicate to all program staff, medically significant information concerning the student’s medical history and information provided by the student’s parents and physician
•Conduct daily assessments of student’s medical status and maintain medical records
•Responsible for administration of prescribed medications and treatment to students as assigned
•Provide personal care assistance where needed including toileting/feeding and respond to physical needs of students including positioning and lifting
•Respond to medical emergencies which may arise as a result of the student’s medical condition
•Assume all other responsibilities as directed by the Director of Nursing in conjunction with the Special Education Director
•Administer medical treatments to students at school and/or during transport according to a student’s IEP and Healthcare Plan
