THRIVE is a consortium of 28 member school districts, serving as an alternative setting for students in grades K-12, and is a part of the Manson Northwest Webster Community School District. THRIVE is a Therapeutic, Trauma-Informed approach designed to support students' social, emotional, mental health, and academic needs by establishing Healthy Habits and building Resilience through Individualized and Inclusive practices.
Job Summary:
THRIVE Academy is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time MS/HS Life Skills & Vocational Skills Teacher. THRIVE Academy offers a full range of academic programs with a focus on social-emotional learning, trauma, and mental health to help our students build the skills needed for a successful future. Class sizes are limited to 10 students each and have a general classroom para assigned to each room to provide additional support to meet the individual needs of all of our students.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Primarily work with students 6 - 12th grade
- Teach a variety of subjects, including Life Skills, Career Exploration, Employability Skills
- Serve as the Advisor for a roster of up to 10 Homeroom students
- Apply knowledge of school-wide MTSS
- Demonstrate the ability to enhance academic performance
- Demonstrate competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position
- Demonstrate competence in planning and preparing for instruction
- Use strategies to deliver instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students
- Use effective classroom engagement strategies
- Work collaboratively with other educational professionals
- Engage in professional growth
- Work with special education students with academic, behavioral, & social/emotional needs.
- Must have a solid knowledge base regarding various de-escalation strategies.
- Must have good communication skills, be flexible, and patient.
Certification Requirements: Will accept any of the following
- Iowa Teaching Licensure or eligible to obtain
