What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alarm Technician - Security Clearance Required position at ManTech?
Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated Alarm Technician to join our team at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington . This is an onsite position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Assist with developing, troubleshooting, testing, operating, and maintaining security systems. To include Automated Access Control Systems (AACS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems.
Assist with developing, troubleshooting, testing, operating, and the maintenance of security system components such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Programmable Logic Relays (PLR), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), fiber optic video and data transmission equipment, and IP-based packet switching telecommunications systems.
Conduct electronics technician methods utilizing basic electrical theory, technical manuals, factory specifications, schematics, job orders, and other publications.
Create schematic diagrams, drawings, and sketches of security systems and components as configured.
Assist senior technicians with the installation and configuration of security and cable systems.
Adhere to industry safety guidelines and best practices to maintain a safe work environment.
Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma or Graduate Equivalent Diploma (GED)
2 years of relative experience as an Alarm Technician or related field
Valid Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications :
Practical knowledge of a wide range of electronics principles and participation in the installation of security systems.
Understanding of low voltage systems installation and servicing.
Knowledge of basic electrical theory
Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) for both electrical and electronic installations
Experience in the use of electronic test equipment such as multi-meters, function generators, mega-ohm meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and cable testers
Experience installing, configuring & troubleshooting security-related equipment components, including BMS, Maglocks, network cabling, serial cabling, solenoids, door strikes, electric door handles, and relays
Working knowledge of PLC, PLR, UPS, fiber optic video and data transmission equipment, and IP-based packet-switching telecommunications systems
Experience in proper conduit bending and wiring techniques for electrical or electronic installations, especially fiber optic
Clearance Requirements :
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active Secret security clearance prior to starting this position.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to lift materials up to 60 lbs.
Kneeling, stooping, bending, and climbing ladders.
Ability to work in confined spaces or challenging environments as required.
Candidate must have the ability to accurately distinguish colors and hear and accurately comprehend telephone conversations, radio traffic, and annunciated alarms.
