What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications Installation SME position at ManTech?
Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Communications Installation SME. This position is onsite in Norfolk, VA.
Job Summary:
The candidate will support teams performing installs, maintenance, repairs, overhauls, troubleshooting, and the tests of electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment and related devices. The candidate will apply their technical knowledge to assist junior team members with the completion of assigned tasking.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support team members and perform required communication equipment integration or installation of communication systems equipment, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and use of test equipment as required
Install, configure, integrate, troubleshoot, and manage HF, UHF, SATCOM, radio communications suites and associated network and cryptographic equipment deployed
Performance of preventative maintenance and troubleshooting or assessment of electronic equipment
Work alongside engineers to design, build and test solutions to a variety of technical problems
Analyze operations and offering suggestions for improvement
Perform field validations of various watercraft and equipment
Perform work between customer sites, shore sites, and/or on ships
Minimum Requirements:
Associates degree in related field and 4 years of experience or equivalent education and years of experience in lieu of degree
Knowledge of test equipment including but not limited to Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Optical analyzers, power meters, bench power supplies, multimeters etc.
Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) services at both Contiguous United States (CONUS) and Outside Contiguous United States (OCONUS) locations
Must have technical experience with AC/DC circuits
Must have experience with HF/VHF/UHF installation/troubleshooting
Must have experience with RF Connectors
Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with HF/VHF/UHF radio systems RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers), basic electronic principles, a firm knowledge of networking equipment, IP networking and sub-netting is required
Experience with JIRA/Confluence
NAVSEA Certified in Fiber Optic Termination
Tower Climber Certified
Clearance Requirements:
Must be US Citizen and have an active Secret security clearance
Must be eligible to get a CAC card
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 50 Lbs.
Work extensive time in stationary positions.
