Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career, and customer-oriented Engineering Technician to join our team in Hollywood, FL. This is an On-Site position.
Overview :
ManTech is seeking a qualified Engineering Technician to support complex engineering activities related to acoustics systems, including the assembly, analysis, design, and testing of acoustic sensors, systems, and related equipment. This role combines hands-on technical work and interaction with engineers and customers to ensure systems' successful deployment and performance in various environments.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Perform a variety of software and / or hardware engineering activities, including assembly, analysis, design, and testing
Collaborate with engineers and technical staff as part of project teams
Plan and conduct research, development, or installation of products and systems in conformance with engineering designs and customer specifications
Engage with Senior Engineers for design reviews, troubleshooting, and implementing technical solutions related to U.S. Navy acoustics systems
Support assembly, operation, and maintenance of complex portable data acquisition systems, including electric, electronic, and mechanical systems
Conduct electronic equipment assembly, soldering, cable builds, and testing
Troubleshoot systems and perform computer operations related to the data acquisition systems
Participate in the operation and maintenance of towed array systems, including installations and troubleshooting
Read and comprehend preventive maintenance documents and procedures to ensure proper system functionality
Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Three (3) or more years of experience with electronic equipment assembly, troubleshooting and maintenance
Willingness to travel within the United States for site installations, training, or other mission-critical operations, up to 20%
Preferred Qualifications :
3 or more years of experience with acoustic sensors and signal processing, including a thorough understanding of in-water measurement arrays, equipment maintenance, and interfacing hardware and software for the operation of measurement arrays
Experience with towed array handling, installations, maintenance, and operation in a U.S. Navy environment
Advanced technician skills, including soldering and troubleshooting electronic equipment
Experience in technical writing and editing, preferably Navy technical documents
Experience with the research and editing of Navy technical manuals
Ability to operate and troubleshoot data acquisition systems
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Clearance Requirements :
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time
Ability to carry and lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs
Ability to crawl and maneuver in confined spaces, such as bilge areas or other tight spaces
Occasional waterfront support in an industrial warehouse or maritime environment
Occasional work in outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions, when performing field validations
