ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Engineering Technician to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA. This position is onsite.
The Engineering Technician utilizes knowledge of the fundamentals of AC/DC circuits as it pertains to the installation of electronic equipment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
Support teams performing installs, maintenance, repairs, overhauls, troubleshooting, and the tests of electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment and related devices
Troubleshoot field equipment failures, documentation of maintenance and troubleshooting procedures
Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting or assessment of electronic equipment
Work and perform at government and contractor facilities with little supervision, receiving technical guidance from project managers, where awareness is critical, and the highest level of safety and caution must be exercised to eliminate risk
Working alongside engineers to design, build and test solutions to a variety of technical problems
Prepare technical reports, documentation, and manuals related to engineering projects
Analyze operations and offering suggestions for improvement
Perform research, writing, editing, and revising of Navy technical documents
Perform field validations of various watercraft and equipment
Ability to read and comprehend preventive maintenance documents and procedures
Proficient with Microsoft Windows OS and office automation software (Microsoft Office, SharePoint)
CONUS/OCONUS travel may be required
Minimum Requirements:
Associates degree
4 years of relevant experience
Experience with AC/DC circuits, and HF/VHF/UHF installation and/or troubleshooting
Experience with RF Connectors
Familiar with Department of Defense (DoD) services at both Contiguous United States (CONUS) and Outside Contiguous United States (OCONUS) locations
Preferred Requirements:
Education/Training in Electronics to include installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Building/Repairing Connectors
Security Clearance:
US Citizenship required and an active Secret Security Clearance
Must be eligible to get a Common Access (CAC) card
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
Climb and descend ladders
Ability to work in confined spaces
